We pursue and promote child directed play. Children are encouraged to play at their own pace, to make their own choices and to think for themselves. We believe this helps young children to learn more effectively and to gain self-confidence. Children should not be pushed to hurry through their play or be distracted from what interests them. They should be encouraged to make their own discoveries through their play.

Mandarin for Pre-schoolers
HKPPA is thrilled to advise that we shall be running Mandarin Classes/Playgroups for pre-schoolers (aged 2.6 to 6 years), weekly commencing from 7 May 2007, on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
Our instructor is a lady born and educated in Beijing. She is well experienced in teaching Mandarin to children in secondary schools and kindergartens. She is also a registered Child Care Worker as well as a Qualified Kindergarten Teacher (QKT). In 2005, she was asked by the Oxford University Press to read and grade some Mandarin teaching materials and to edit a teacher’s guidebook for Mandarin for lower kindergarten.
